What's a good strategy for grains, cotton, CC payments?

The conference sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Grand Ballroom of the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Memphis.

The conference will begin with a session on protecting your counter-cyclical payments by Texas A&M Extension economist Carl Anderson, followed by the New York Board of Trade’s Tom Walker, who will discuss the role of futures and options as pricing tools.

Farmer and crop insurance agent Michael Bernard will discuss the cash flow crunch of 2003, followed by Alan Brugler, president of Brugler Marketing and Management, who will provide a grain and oilseeds outlook. Lunch will be provided by Bayer CropScience.

After lunch speakers are Drew Lerner, senior meteorologist, World Weather, Inc., who will give his best guess on the distribution of rain and sun in the coming months, and Joe Nicosia, CEO of Allenberg Cotton Co., who will provide a cotton outlook.

The conference is sponsored by the Ag Market Network and Bayer CropScience.
