What a difference 20 years can make

Larry Ganaan says when the first Roundup Ready soybeans were introduced 20 years ago he couldn’t have said they were better varieties than the conventional ones of that era.

That is the case with the new Asgrow Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans that can be planted next year after receiving approval from the European Union and other soybean-importing countries.

Ganaan, technical agronomist with Monsanto in west Tennessee and north Mississippi, talked about the new dicamba-tolerant varieties and other new developments coming from Monsanto following the company’s field day at its Union City, Tenn., research facility.
