Sharpen labeled for preplant use in rice

Rice growers will have a new tool in their arsenal for controlling broadleaf weeds – including glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth and horseweed – in 2012. Sharpen has been approved for burndown use in rice. Alvin Rhodes, technical service representative for BASF, talked about the new registration for Sharpen – and the need for continued use of the Clearfield stewardship program – in an interview at the USA Rice Outlook Conference in Austin, Texas.
