Provisia herbicide could offer rice farmers new herbicide tool: Part III

While university scientists are developing commercial rice varieties that will be tolerant to Provisia herbicide, BASF is working on the herbicide component itself. The herbicide is an ACCASE inhibitor or grass herbicide such as Poast, which has been available in the U.S. for decades. BASF’s Alvin Rhodes talked about the efforts to develop a new grass herbicide for rice at the Horizon Ag Field Day in Rayne, La.
