Land, equipment values could be keys to surviving economic adversity

Falling land values took out nearly as many farmers as low commodity prices in the 1980s. Could that happen again now? Maybe, but so far land values are holding steady in the Mid-South. Equipment values are a different story with some falling 35 to 40 percent, according to AgHeritage’s Greg Cole, who discussed these and other factors impacting farmers during a presentation at the Mid-South Ag Law Conference in Memphis, Tenn.
