Northeast Louisiana schools signing up for Ag Adventures

Ag Adventures, an educational experience in agriculture for fourth graders, will be held Jan. 28-29 at the Northeast District Livestock Show Barn and Civic Center, both in Delhi, La.

Students who attend will spend about one and a half hours learning about agricultural products in northeast Louisiana from LSU AgCenter agents.

The program will showcase four commodities — poultry, rice, livestock and horses. The animal events last about 30 minutes each in the barn.

The goal of the event is to increase awareness of the nutritional and economic importance of Louisiana commodities.

Students, teachers and parent volunteers from schools in East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll parishes are expected to participate.

For more information, call the LSU AgCenter office in Richland Parish at (318) 728-3216.
