Gary said that a panel of about 25 people representing stakeholders in the agricultural markets, such as exchanges, traders, merchandisers and producers is now being selected by Walter Lukken, CFTC's acting chairman.

Further details on the forum, including names of the participants and an agenda on specific items to be discussed, will be released a week prior to the forum and posted on the CFTC Web site at

According to Gary, the only people who will speak at the forum are the 25 panelists. “Anyone is welcome to attend and listen to the forum. The meeting room will seat about 200 people on a first-come, first-seated basis.”

The CFTC plans to Webcast the event. For those without access to a computer, a toll-free call-in line will be available for listening. Instruction on how to dial in and hyperlink to the Web site will also be available at the CFTC Web site prior to the forum. The forum is expected to last for several hours.
