Louisiana's Odom enters Hall of Fame

THE LOUISIANA Agricultural Consultants Association presented its 2005 Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Fame award to Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Bob Odom at its annual meeting in Alexandria, La.

Grady Coburn, a past president of LACA and consultant from Cheneyville, La., and Ray Young, a past president and consultant from Wisner, La., surprised Odom with the award following his speech to the group.

“I am so grateful to be named to the list of distinguished recipients of the Hall of the Fame award,” said Odom. “Because I was an ag consultant prior to becoming commissioner, I know these people and the work they do. They are vital to the ag community and its survival.

“To be singled out by them and presented this award is truly an honor.”
