The meeting will offer in-depth presentations on every aspect of row crop production in Louisiana and will include keynote addresses by some of the state’s most influential agricultural and political leaders.
After Landrieu and Odom kick off the meeting, speakers from the USDA Farm Service Agency will provide an update on how the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 will affect Louisiana crops and an overview of the current crop insurance guidelines and options.
Technical sessions will include panel discussions with Louisiana growers; presentations from various company representatives on new products and product use changes; production advice from LSU Ag Center specialists and researchers concerning the state’s major row crops; and marketing and economic updates.
Members of the LACA consult on all crops grown in Louisiana including cotton, soybeans, corn, wheat, grain sorghum, sugarcane, rice, sweet potatoes, turf, vegetables, ornamentals and more. In addition, many LACA members carry out independent field research through contracts with many of the crop protection product companies
