Solving farmer woes is an equal opportunity project

Last in a series.

American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall says his organization may be the largest farm group in the world, but that doesn’t mean AFBF always has to take the lead on new initiatives involving agriculture.

“We will lead when we’re asked to do so, but we’ll also stand beside you when you need a partner,” he said in a speech at the annual meeting of the Southern Crop Production Association in Amelia Island, Fla.

“Jay (Vroom, CEO of CropLife America) and I feel the same way. It doesn’t matter who gets the credit as long as it gets done,” said Duvall, a beef, chicken and hay producer in Green County, Ga. He was elected to be the 12th president of the Federation at its annual meeting last January.
