Darbonne to serve as MAIC president

THE MISSISSIPPI Agricultural Industry Council has named Ned Darbonne, a Bayer CropScience sales representative from Madison, Miss., as its president for the 2002-03 year.

Serving with Darbonne will be Abby Taylor, first vice president, Helena Chemical Co., Webb, Miss.; Joe Camp, second vice president, Agriliance, Baldwyn, Miss.; Jonny Spivey, outgoing president, Dow AgriScience, Indianola, Miss.; and Will McCarty, executive vice president, Mississippi State University. The officers were elected during the MAIC's annual meeting in Orange Beach, Ala.

The organization named Darbonne as its “Man of the Year” and Eva Ann Dorris, agricultural journalist and free lance contributor to Delta Farm Press, its first-ever “Woman of the Year.”

Bill Long, senior territory manager with Griffin LLC, Greenwood, Miss., and Wade Stewart, BASF Corp., Brandon, Miss., also received the Master of the Trade award from their peers in the MAIC. Both are past presidents of the organization.
