World cotton acreage could decline by 10 percent in 2015 season

The world’s largest producers of quality cotton are all looking at smaller acreages this year, according to Dr. O.A. Cleveland. Then there’s China, which could drop its plantings by 13 percent, depending on government policies. That and increased consumption could lead to smaller stocks by the end of 2015-16 and potentially better prices.
