Pat O’Leary’s legacy of making better cotton better

When Pat O’Leary joined Cotton Incorporated in 1993, her hiring was somewhat controversial. Cotton Incorporated had never had a female entomologist before. Since then, O’Leary has played a major role in the research efforts of the cotton checkoff program, launching CI’s Crop Management Seminars and becoming a spokesman for the cotton industry on environmental issues. O’Leary, who will retire on Dec. 31, sat down with Delta Farm Press editor Forrest Laws to talk about her career.
