Don’t believe everything you hear or read about irrigating cotton

Critics of production agriculture like to throw around numbers showing that the demise of cotton is near at hand. Most of those numbers are misleading because cotton, unlike corn and soybeans, is a drought-tolerant crop. Cotton Incorporated’s Ed Barnes talked about the water situation for cotton following his presentation at CI’s Cotton Competitiveness Conference in Raleigh, N.C.
