Agribusiness: Redball announces ownership change

BENSON, Minn. - Redball, LLC, has purchased AGCO Corp.’s partial ownership interest in Redball, concluding a successful five-year joint venture that helped fund expansion of Redball’s product line and nearly tripled the company’s sales.

Redball President Steve Claussen says Redball has attained the size necessary to attract capital for continued growth without assistance from AGCO, based in Duluth, Ga.

“Redball is now one of the leading U.S. manufacturers of agricultural trailer sprayers,” says Claussen. “Our goal as an independent, privately-held company is to continue to build on the product innovations that have led to our sustained growth.”

Redball, which was established in 1984, employs 135 workers, including staff at its headquarters and two manufacturing plants in Benson, and at distribution centers and field sales offices across the United States. In addition to a full line of agricultural field sprayers, it manufactures fertilizer application and tillage equipment. It also sells parts for agricultural sprayers through its Spray Parts R Us division.
