More to 100-bushel soybeans than meets the eye

Growers who compete in the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board’s Grow for the Green Challenge not only have to know how to grow high-yielding soybeans, they also have to figure out where to harvest their test block.

Arkansas soybean producer Perry Galloway discussed some of the ins and outs of breaking the 100-bushel yield barrier that many Arkansas growers strive for during the Mississippi Soybean Association’s Soybean Forum.

Galloway harvested 108 bushels in a field in 2015, but fell a little bit short this year because of some lodging problems in the test area of the field he selected to harvest his entry for the 2016 Grow for the Green Challenge.
