Trends for 2012 and beyond, plus a look at labor issues, are among the topics on the agenda for the third annual Mid-South Commercial Horticulture-Fruit Producers Meeting set for Jan. 24 in Conway, Ark.
The meeting will be held in Conway at the Natural Resource Center, 110 S. Amity Road, from 8:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. A $35 registration fee will cover food and educational materials.

“We’ll bring to producers the latest on new pesticides, varieties and services provided by the University of Arkansas, as well as an open discussion by a panel of experts,” Marsh said.
The meeting will also include a mini-trade show and panel with a question-and-answer session.
The agenda includes:
- Labor issues update – State Rep. Jeremy Gillam of Judsonia.
- Trends and Outlooks – Dr. John Clark, professor-horticulture, U of A Division of Agriculture.
- Fruit, vegetable diseases and fungicide rotation – Sherri Smith, plant pathologist, U of A Division of Agriculture.
- Diseases in fruits and vegetables, and fungicide rotation -- Sherrie Smith.

The Natural Resource Center in Conway is located on the Amity access road off of I-40 between Exit 129 and Exit 127.
From Little Rock on I-40: take Exit 129A on Dave Ward Road East on right. Bear right on Business US-65 (AR 286/DaveWard Drive/Industrial Blvd). Turn left on South Amity Road.
From Fort Smith on I-40: take Exit 129 and turn left at the end of the exit ramp and cross back over I-40 to the traffic light (Immediately after crossing the interstate). At the traffic light, turn left onto South Amity Road. Continue west on Amity Road, pass a mobile home sales lot, the school bus and Star Concert plants. Coming from Highway 64 from Vilonia, simply turn left at Chili’s Restaurant onto Amity Road. Once on Amity Road, the center is located between the Antioch Baptist Church and the Star Concrete plant. A new landscape project construction is located in the front yard.
