Fewer companies are being called on to do more for the world population

Fewer and fewer basic manufacturers are doing research and development in agriculture, but those companies are being called on to do more to feed the world. With some experts now predicting the world population could reach 11 billion by 2020, Bayer CropScience’s Jim Blome says the pressure is on for those companies to work even more closely with public and private researchers to increase the use of technology. Blome was interviewed following a Bayer CropScience Respect the Rotation Field Day held at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
