Estimate cotton yields by boll count

In the latest issue of Mississippi Crop Situation [1] (Aug. 14, 2009), Darrin Dodds provides information for estimating cotton yields by counting bolls after warning that such counts “can often be misleading as there are a number of factors that can influence final yield.”

Also in this issue you find:

• Erick Larson discusses corn harvest losses and moisture dockage.

• Trey Koger provides information on harvest aids in soybeans.

• John Anderson and John Michael Riley take a look at the markets for Mid-South Crops.
