EPA grants Section 18 for Transform on plant bugs

An emergency exemption has been granted by EPA for the use of Transform WG insecticide on tarnished plant bug in cotton. The active ingredient in Transform is sulfoxaflor, which represents a new mode of action. See links for more information on restrictions.

EPA has granted an emergency use exemption for Transform WG insecticide, from Dow AgroSciences, for certain counties in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee for control of tarnished plant bugs in cotton.

The Section 18 label was granted upon the request of each state. Transform, which contains the active ingredient sulfoxaflor, represents a new mode of action and has excellent activity on tarnished plant bugs. Typical application rates will range from 1.5 ounces to 2 ounces per acre.

There is a substantial limitation on the Section 18 label, including a 360-day plant back restriction for all crops except cotton.For more information on restrictions, counties where it can be applied and rates, see information on your state:
