USDA aiming to expand sub-Saharan Africa markets

USDA-led trade mission to South Africa, Mozambique, set for mid-September. U.S. agriculture groups to join mission.

Krysta Harden, USDA Deputy Secretary, is set lead a trade mission to promote U.S. agricultural trade and investment in sub-Saharan Africa. The mission, which will visit South Africa and Mozambique from September 16-20, will launch the department’s Sub-Saharan Africa Trade Initiative.

The mission includes 18 U.S. companies and 16 U.S. agricultural commodity trade associations. Among them: the American Peanut Council, American Soybean Association, U.S. Grains Council, USA Rice Federation, and the U.S. Wheat Association.
