University of Arkansas Extension Service to conduct ARC/PLC Enrollment webinar

Have questions about the Agricultural Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs in the Agricultural Act of 2014?

You’re probably not alone. As a service to growers planning to enroll in ARC or PLC this summer, USDA Farm Service Agency personnel in Arkansas, in cooperation with the University of Arkansas Extension Service, are conducting an ARC/PLC Webinar.

The Webinar: 2014 Farm Bill: Phase III – ARC/PLC Enrollment, will feature Anita Wilson, state agricultural program specialist, and Tony Franco, chief, Farm Programs Division, Arkansas State FSA Office, and Bobby Coats, professor of agricultural economics at the University of Arkansas.

You can register for the webinar, which will be offered from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday (June 25) by clicking on https://uaex.zoom.us/webinar/register/d4d50b6867f478ea34538d7d4481ef37. Besides being able to watch the participants, viewers can submit questions to Ms Wilson and Franco and Dr. Coats through the Q&A button on the webinar console.

USDA has published a Fact Sheet for the Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs. The Fact Sheet is 10 pages long and can be accessed at the USDA Farm Bill website: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_File/arc_plc_enrollment_20150615.pdf

“The 2014 farm bill continues to present challenges to many of our farmers, and we are grateful to Tony Franco and Anita Wilson for appearing in our webinars and answering growers’ questions about subjects that are extremely important,” says Coats.

Enrollment in ARC and PLC began at county FSA offices on June 15 and will continue through Sept. 30.

Earlier this week, the UAEX Webinar Series featured a presentation by the National Weather Service’s John Lewis on the Strengthening El Nino Phenomenon and the Weather Outlook for the Remainder of 2015.
