Texas producer to speak at Ag Market Network teleconference

The panel of experts includes O.A. Cleveland, professor emeritus, Mississippi State University; H.W. “Kip” Butts, senior cotton analyst, Informa Economics; Jarral Neeper, president, Calcot, Ltd.; John Robinson, professor and Extension specialist/cotton marketing; and Patrick McClatchy, executive director, Ag Market Network.

Kelli Merritt, a cotton producer from Lamesa, Texas, will be the featured speaker for the monthly Ag Market Network teleconference at 7:30 a.m. Monday (Oct. 12.) She will join the Network’s panel of cotton experts who will discuss global cotton production, crop conditions, domestic and export demand and government policy.

Besides being a cotton farmer, Merritt is a commodity broker and crop marketing consultant. She will discuss the cotton market outlook and the new realities of cotton farming in a period of cotton surplus and low demand.
