Louisiana farmers and ranchers have faced a number of challenges from extensive flooding in parts of the state this past spring to low commodity prices for almost all of the state's agricultural commodities this summer.
But it would be difficult to characterize the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation's 94th annual meeting as gloomy or downcast. Instead, members greeted friends from across the state, heard presentations about a number of issues confronting agriculture and passed a new set of resolutions aimed at making their lives better in the future.
They also took time to watch their younger members compete in several contests, enjoy the fine dining in New Orleans restaurants and catch up on the happenings in other parts of the state and agriculture. Here are some scenes from this year's convention.
