Helping growers of all sizes be profitable

New company seeks to help farmers make better use of the new technology rapidly becoming available.

Steve Maxwell spent part of his teenage years helping his grandfather on his 200-acre farm in Grady County, Ga. The experience left an indelible impression.

After he went to college and served in the U.S. Navy, Maxwell became a produce farmer in his native Florida and then got into other businesses, including packaging and labeling for farm products.

When he saw an opportunity to branch out into another area of farming, he decided to structure the new company so it would help that 200-acre grower like his grandfather all those years ago. He discussed the new company, Highland Precision Ag,  in this interview at Sunbelt Expo in Moultrie, Ga.
